Hi! I'm Jade Oakes. I'm a passionate animal lover and plant enthusiast living here in South-East Austin, Tx. I decided to share my many years of experience with others by starting my own business caring
for pets, plants and homes, because I love them so much.
I grew up in a home full of exotic & domestic pets and plants because my parents also had a passion for it. In fact, my family even trained and domesticated big Macaw parrots part-time because they loved working with animals too. Clients would send their parrots to live with us for 6 months to a year to have their parrots become so tame they could handle them in any way they would like; our previously wild parrots would lie like a baby in our clients arms. Because of my parents' passion for working with animals we have cared for almost every type of pet available; large salt tanks, reptiles ( snakes, turtles, chameleons, frogs ), parrots, spiders, pot-belly pig, and of course, dogs and cats. Since then I have gone on to own a few exotic pets of my own, including; Sun Conure parrot ( 15 yrs ),
Chinese Water Dragon reptile ( 13 yrs ), Red-Ear Slider turtle ( 2 yrs ), Red Corn snake ( 2 yrs )
and African/ Discus Cichlid fish tanks ( 15 yrs ).
Currently I have five critters at home. Three dogs, a Blue Heeler, Jack-Russell terrier, and a Whippet-Chihauhau mix; all of them were rescued where I found them wandering alone in the streets and abandoned. I have two large short-haired rescued cats. And, a indoor plant collection of about 250 plants. Coming soon will be a Paludarium and a Dart frog habitat.
That's collectively 45 yrs of pet and plant experience! This unique experience gives me an ease and comfort around animals that is hard to come by; and animals can sense it too. My confidence and experience makes even the most scared and aggressive pets feel safe and secure knowing that they are in capable hands.
Caring for animals is such a special opportunity and treat for me. I would love to be your go to person to care for your extended family when you need to go out of town or if you need an extra hand.
I work especially well with difficult and special need pets. As well as advanced plant care needs and understanding.
